Boquete
is "one of the best
places to live in the western hemisphere."
- Modern
Maturity Magazine
Boquete (view
map) is a scenic
mountain town located in
the highlands of Western Panama, in the Chiriquí
Province, only 10 miles from Costa Rica and
an easy 7 hour drive from Panama City.
Travelers
and those who have relocated to Boquete are
drawn to its year-round spring-like weather,
tranquil lifestyle, breathtaking landscapes and
friendly residents.
Situated between the
Caldera River, which lies to the east, and Baru
Volcano to it's west, the combination of
cool, brisk temperatures and rich, fertile land
has created an ideal setting for floral
exportation and coffee growing.
Boquete proper offers everything found in well
equipped small towns. Restaurants, coffee shops
with high-speed internet access and shops
abound. Boquete has approximately 6,200
inhabitants (2006).Recently, Boquete has become
the home of many North American retirees, that
have come attracted by its pleasant climate and
affordable cost of living. It is also the
perfect place to combat Asthma.
The
real estate market in Boquete is getting red
hot. Investors who missed out on the opportunity
to "get in early" in places like Cabo San Lucas,
Tamarindo, Vail and Cape Cod are capitalizing on
the low entry point and steady appreciation of
real estate in Panama on the whole and Boquete
specifically.
Remember, you pay no
property taxes on your home in Panama!
